University Courses Online in Canada
University Affairs has an article in their April 2008 issue about distance education and open universities in Canada at the post-secondary level. Worth a read if you’re interested in checking out innovative university options.
Open Universities are a wonderful option for homeschoolers because their admission policies are, well, open. If you think you’re ready to try university coursework, who are they to stop you? A high school diploma is not necessary and you can dive into university credit classes right away. Many of these courses can later be transferred to a traditional Ontario university if you wish to finish your degree at a bricks and mortar school attending regular classes.
Distance education in general has its pros and cons, and is not for everyone. But, it’s one more option to consider when doing your university research.
