Homeschooling Horizons 2 part article
I have a 2 part article coming out in the September and October editions of Homeschooling Horizons magazine. Here’s the premise:
This is a two-part series that puts forth the hypothesis that in our attempts to make math approachable and relevant to children, we have come to revere “concrete” math teaching tools when we should be focused instead on “authentic” learning experiences, many of which embrace the inherent abstract nature of mathematics.
