You might have to get creative (or literal) to find a homeschool admissions policy

Today I wanted to find RMC’s homeschooling policy on their website. For the record, you’ll find this information about four layers in from the main admissions page under the heading “Non Canadian Education Systems.” Because technically, a homeschool applicant is not a product of a Canadian education system, I guess.

I would like to know if you know of any homeschooled students who were accepted into RMC and if so what their experience was like. What does it mean when it says students will be “considered individually”?
Any information that you may have specific to RMC’s application process would be appreciated.
Thank you.

There are a couple of threads on the Higher Ed for Home Learners message board about RMC. You can read (and ask more) here:

“Considered individually” is the university’s way of saying that they can use whatever criteria they want, and weigh different admission factors however they choose.

In the first link above, though, you’ll see a homeschooler comment on how applicants are chosen.

RMC accepts homeschoolers. Also the CRC accepts homeschoolers. Where you might come into a “glitch” is applying to the ROTP (Regular Force Officer Training Plan) http://www.forces.ca/en/page/paideducation-96
This process is a two step process and ROTP does not have a homeschooling applicant policy for those who do not have 5 university grade 12 level credits.
